Joelle Fingerhut started taking photos over 15 years ago. Her photography demonstrates her firm belief in global empathy. She strives to take photos of scenes or moments that challenge conceptions people might have about different areas of the world. She is a firm believer in global empathy. Since the internet, people have been able to feel a stronger sense of a “global village”, moreso than ever before. With her photos, Joelle intends to build on this idea, presenting the viewer with access and a sense of togetherness that would have been otherwise impossible.
Joelle also has developed a trained eye for the sublime. In her day to day life, she encounters moments in which the seemingly mundane reveals itself to be much more: something which transcends names or labels, which she dutifully captures onto film.
